About us

In Reverence to the Postpartum Time
In our collective culture, we commonly think of the Postpartum as the first six weeks after a baby is born, the time that generally represents the acute healing phase after birth. When in fact, it is a much deeper and more expansive time. We can expand our holding of the postpartum to include the first three months postpartum in which significant physiological shifts occur within mother/parent and baby. We can expand further and hold acknowledgement for the first nine months postpartum as a period of exo-gestation, wherein both mother/parent and baby continue to exist as a dyad and meet milestones together. We can then expand even further and hold reverence for a deeper truth, that the postpartum has no bounds, and that a mother/parent is forever changed by welcoming in a baby, whether it is their first or the third child. Postpartum includes the period of time that ripples outward after a pregnancy has been released or lost, it cocoons and honors a woman in that tender time of healing and change in her body, mind, and spirit, where a baby is not physically present.
Womb Weavers holds sacred space for all wombs and all women, no matter where you are in your postpartum, no matter where you are in your rite of passage.
