About us

Hannah Lushington & Julia Reid

Womb Weavers Postpartum Care was created over many cups of tea and deep conversations about the transformative nature of the postpartum period. Our offering weaves together healing modalities such as full-body tandem massage, lymphatic salt scrub, moxibustion and vaginal steaming with ceremony, womb and pelvic care, breastfeeding/body-feeding support, herbal medicines and guided meditations. Our aim is to bring village tending back into the postpartum home, re-weaving the cloth of connection. Through it, we desire to hold a container of trust, connection, and safety for women/birthing people to integrate the rite of passage that is pregnancy and birth, including pregnancy loss and miscarriage. In this space we are witness and gentle guides to the archetypal metamorphosis that is the postpartum time. We believe all women/birthing people deserve to be exalted in their process, wherever that journey takes them.

We look forward to weaving with you.

In Reverence to the Postpartum Time

In our collective culture, we commonly think of the Postpartum as the first six weeks after a baby is born, the time that generally represents the acute healing phase after birth. When in fact, it is a much deeper and more expansive time. We can expand our holding of the postpartum to include the first three months postpartum in which significant physiological shifts occur within mother/parent and baby. We can expand further and hold acknowledgement for the first nine months postpartum as a period of exo-gestation, wherein both mother/parent and baby continue to exist as a dyad and meet milestones together. We can then expand even further and hold reverence for a deeper truth, that the postpartum has no bounds, and that a mother/parent is forever changed by welcoming in a baby, whether it is their first or the third child. Postpartum includes the period of time that ripples outward after a pregnancy has been released or lost, it cocoons and honors a woman in that tender time of healing and change in her body, mind, and spirit, where a baby is not physically present.

Womb Weavers holds sacred space for all wombs and all women, no matter where you are in your postpartum, no matter where you are in your rite of passage.
